Gled and Kinnen
Gled and Kinnen Cottages, No. 7 & 9 Mill Street, Creetown, DG8 7JN
We bought Gled and Kinnen (formerly known as Dingleton) in 2009 and spent the next three years painstakingly stripping them back and rebuilding. We tried to ensure the final product was as comfortable and luxurious as possible but also had minimal impact on the environment.
We’ve had great fun welcoming guests to Gled Cottage since June 2013 and now Kinnen is also ready to join in. A few have been coming back every year since and we’re delighted with the response and feedback.
It is truly a family run business. Karen Hyslop manages bookings, cleans the cottages (with the help of Amy), welcomes guests and makes sure everything is in place to ensure a fantastic holiday. Karen’s husband Jamie gets involved by dealing with any maintenance issues and having fun chopping wood for the wood burners.
Their children are in charge of the bug houses, which they made. Now as they get older Mum will make sure they earn their pocket money!
It has always been important to ensure that anything we do at Gled and Kinnen has as little negative impact on the environment as possible. From the cleaning products we use to the Fairtrade coffee we supply, we are constantly striving for new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Have a look at our Green Policy which shows some of the ways we are trying to reduce our environmental impact.
We would love to welcome you to the cottages and let you discover the beauty of Dumfries and Galloway.
